Our Story

We are a therapist-run organization which began in July of 2005 to serve the needs of individuals with developmental delays through an Early Intervention program known as Aprendamos. As the Aprendamos grew families began asking for services for their children after the age of three. To meet their needs, we started Esperanza Children’s Therapy Clinic. Families needed services for their children with Autism, so we began Mariposa Autism Services Center. Families also needed somewhere they could go at talk to someone about any issues they may be experience, so we started Alegria Family Counseling. Seeing that families need services before the child is born we applied for and were awarded several grants, and the Conscious Fathering Program of Southern New Mexico, Cariño Home Visiting Program and Community Based Child Abuse Prevention Program were welcomed under the Aprendamos Family.

In 2005 we began with 2 employees, a speech language pathologist and a service coordinator. Today we have a team over 160 passionate, caring and driven individuals. We provide comprehensive speech-language therapy, occupational therapy and physical therapy, family therapy, nutritional and nursing services, social workers, service coordinators, registered behavior technicians, board certified behavior analyst and more.

We give to the community through community service projects, such as volunteering at Casa de Peregrinos, fundraising for the March of Dimes and extensive work providing support to the Hearts For Autism. We also collaborate with many of our community partners throughout Doña Ana County and southern New Mexico. And we do what we do because we love what we do.
