Mariposa Autism Service Center  is a part of the Aprendamos Intervention Team Family. Our Main Office is located in Las Cruces, NM and we have two service area regions. The Southern New Mexico Region serves children and families in the Las Cruces area including Anthony, Chaparral, Sunland Park, and Deming. The Northern New Mexico Region serves children and families in the Albuquerque area including Rio Rancho.  Our services provide therapy to children diagnosed with Autism by utilizing Applied Behavior Analytic techniques.

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) focuses on 7 key dimensions: applied, behavioral, analytic, technological, conceptually systematic, effective and generality.

Basically this means, we implement the concepts derived from research and apply them to real world situations in order to make systematic decisions about the variables that affect behavior and lead to socially significant outcomes.

Within an ABA program there is a focus on environmental settings and how those arrangements affect behavior. Each variable that affects behavior is examined closely, and manipulated in a way that makes every learner successful.

In Conclusion…

ABA is the most effective evidence based therapy available to teach new skills to children with Autism.

ABA is systematic; intervention starts with teaching prerequisite skills that can support and maintain future learning. Understanding behavior helps us understand Autism.
