About Mariposa Autism Service Center
Mariposa Autism Service Center is a part of the Aprendamos Intervention Team Family. Mariposa Autism Service Center provides therapy to children diagnosed with Autism by utilizing Applied Behavior Analytic techniques.
Characteristics of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA)
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) focuses on 7 key dimensions: applied, behavioral, analytic, technological, conceptually systematic, effective and generality.
Basically this means, we implement the concepts derived from research and apply them to real world situations in order to make systematic decisions about the variables that affect behavior and lead to socially significant outcomes.
Within an ABA program there is a focus on environmental settings and how those arrangements affect behavior. Each variable that affects behavior is examined closely, and manipulated in a way that makes every learner successful.
If a child can’t learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach in the way they learn. –Ignacio ‘Nacho’ Estrada
ABA is the most effective evidence based therapy available to teach new skills to children with Autism.
ABA is systematic; intervention starts with teaching prerequisite skills that can support and maintain future learning. Understanding behavior helps us understand Autism.
