Pearl Trujillo MacDonald, MA, LPCC, Has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Educational Psychology from New Mexico State university. She has been a professional clinical mental health counselor for the past 24 years. She has had much experience as a Bilingual (English/Spanish) and Multi-Cultural Counselor. She has worked with children in outpatient programs as well as in home-based services for children with developmental disabilities and provided support for their parents and families. She has been a supervisor for both a children’s mental health program and a case management program that provided services for adults. She has also provided services to adults with a variety of issues including mood disorders, grief and loss, severe disabling mental illness, codependency, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, crisis intervention, suicidal ideation and military veteran’s issues.

Pearl has conducted groups using the Systematic Training for Effective Parenting (STEP) Program. Other Groups that she has facilitated include working with teenage girls and monolingual Spanish speaking females. Pearl facilitates adult groups using strategies for living to address the issues of problem solving and coping with changes in life. Additionally she uses behavioral techniques to help parents manage children and teenagers with acting out behaviors. Pearl has been a resident of Las Cruces since 1983 and is aware of the mental health issues for a culturally diverse population.
