COVID-19 Update April 2020

 In Coronavirus-COVID19

Dear Community Partners,

Our communities are facing an issue of enormous scale and human impact. Our hearts go out to anyone who is being impacted by the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

It is our responsibility and priority to ensure the safety of the families we serve, our community partners, and our team members. Out of an abundance of caution, we are implementing procedures and making decisions that are informed by the latest science-based information and guided by our Mission and Core Values.

We all play a role in preventing the spread of COVID-19 and other respiratory viruses. Therefore, Aprendamos Family of Services will have a change in operations until further notice to keep us all as safe and healthy as possible. Below are some things that will directly impact our families and community partners.

Aprendamos Early Intervention:

  • We are implementing a 100% telehealth model.
    • With the telehealth model, we can utilize Google Duo and telephonics (telephone/voice calls) to complete visits.

Esperanza Children’s Therapy Clinic:

  • We are asking all local BCBA’s to move to a telehealth model of supervision for the next 4 weeks. We ask that only high-need cases or those who insurance does not approve telehealth are visited in person to prevent as much face to face contract as possible.
  • For the foreseeable future, Aprendamos will cancel all community outings.
  • Are recommending that staff change their clothes between visits.
  • All visits will begin with the staff and child handwashing.
  • We will be asking staff to wipe down all hard surfaces frequently used during sessions (e.g. child tables, toys, materials, tablet technology).
  • We will adhere to strict cancellation policy for all staff and families exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19.

Cariño Home Visiting Program:

  • We are implementing a 100% telehealth model.
    • With the telehealth model, we can utilize Doxy.me app and telephonics (telephone/voice calls) to complete visits.

Conscious Fathering Program:

  • We are currently able to provide telehealth classes for the Fathering in 15 (F15) curriculum.
  • Any father or male guardian can participate in F15 by completing the registration form here.
  • F15 will host group call sessions via Google Duo Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 3pm-5pm.
1-on-1 sessions available at the participant’s request.
  • Conscious Fathering Expectant Model is postponed.
  • Our car seat distribution currently has a limited supply and must be referred or out of necessity, such as expired or recalled, and no car seat.
