{"id":1695,"date":"2025-10-08T10:39:00","date_gmt":"2025-10-08T10:39:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aitkids.com\/?p=1695"},"modified":"2026-05-19T22:43:21","modified_gmt":"2026-05-19T22:43:21","slug":"nurse-family-partnership","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aitkids.com\/es\/carino\/con-mucho-carino\/nurse-family-partnership\/","title":{"rendered":"A New Era of Support: The Nurse-Family Partnership"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Aprendamos Family of Services&nbsp;<strong>Cari\u00f1o Family Health &amp; Wellness Programs<\/strong>&nbsp;team is thrilled to begin a new era of support through our&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/changent.org\/what-we-do\/nurse-family-partnership\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Asociaci\u00f3n Enfermera-Familia (NFP)<\/a>&nbsp;\u2014 the first of its kind in&nbsp;<strong>Southern New Mexico<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NFP is an evidence-based home visiting program that matches first-time mothers with specially trained registered nurses who offer guidance, encouragement, and a strong foundation for building brighter futures for both moms and babies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Asociaci\u00f3n Enfermera-Familia (NFP)<\/strong>&nbsp; has been proven to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Improve<\/strong>\u00a0maternal and child health outcomes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Strengthen<\/strong>\u00a0family support systems<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Increase<\/strong>\u00a0school readiness<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Reduce<\/strong>\u00a0child abuse and neglect<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Families are connected with a nurse who provides specialized support starting in early pregnancy through their child\u2019s second birthday. \u201cWe are eager to begin connecting families to nurses who are specially educated and equipped to meet their needs,\u201d said&nbsp;<strong>Cari\u00f1o Director of Early Childhood Development Health Systems, Cristin Weldon, RN, BSN, CCM<\/strong>. \u201cWhen resources and support are provided in the most critical stages of a child\u2019s life, we see improved long-term impacts on family and child health.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Nurse-Family Partnership will initially serve families in&nbsp;<strong>Do\u00f1a Ana and Otero counties<\/strong>, working to empower parents, strengthen communities, and eliminate barriers so that children have the opportunity to thrive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This program is offered in addition to our other home visiting services, ensuring that every family can find the right level of support \u2014 whether or not they meet NFP\u2019s specific eligibility criteria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For more information about the&nbsp;<strong>Cari\u00f1o Family Health &amp; Wellness Programs<\/strong>, call&nbsp;<a href=\"tel:575-210-7667\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">(575) 210-7667<\/a>&nbsp;or email&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:cweldon@aitkids.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">cweldon@aitkids.com<\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Aprendamos Family of Services&nbsp;Cari\u00f1o Family Health &amp; Wellness Programs&nbsp;team is thrilled to begin a new era of support through our&nbsp;Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP)&nbsp;\u2014 the first of its kind in&nbsp;Southern New Mexico.
