At Mariposa Autism Service Center, we\u2019re here to make the process as smooth and supportive as possible. Here\u2019s what you need to know:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 1: Get a Diagnosis<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To begin ABA services, most insurance plans (including Medicaid\/Turquoise Care) require a formal Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Counts:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Stage 1 Diagnosis from a:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Developmental pediatrician<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Child psychologist or psychiatrist<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Trained primary care provider (per NM guidelines)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The diagnosis must clearly state ASD, include a standardized screening tool, and describe how the diagnosis affects your child\u2019s daily life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Not sure where to start? We can help connect you with a local provider.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 2: Verify Your Insurance<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once you have a diagnosis:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Check if your insurance covers ABA<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>MASC accepts New Mexico Medicaid and many private insurance plans<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We\u2019re happy to help verify your benefits \u2014 just ask!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 3: Contact MASC<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You don\u2019t have to figure this out alone.
