APRENDAMOS FAMILY OF SERVICES EXPANDING PROGRAMS AND HIRING IN SIERRA COUNTY
Las Cruces, New Mexico – Aprendamos Family of Services is proud to announce the expansion of the Aprendamos Early Intervention program into Sierra County.
For 16 years, Aprendamos Early Intervention has provided high-quality and values-driven services throughout Doña Ana County and will now be providing services in Sierra County.
Families with an infant or toddler age birth to three who qualify can receive free services. Aprendamos Early Intervention provides free developmental screening, evaluations, and ongoing services to ensure infants and toddlers meet their developmental milestones. Services are held via Telehealth or In-Person.
How Children & Families Qualify for Services:
Any child under the age of three and a New Mexico resident may be eligible for services under one of the four following categories.
Developmental Delay
- A delay of 25% or more in speech, motor, sensory, cognitive, adaptive, or social-emotional development.
Established condition
- A diagnosed medical condition that is highly associated is resulting in a developmental delay (i.e., Down Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder).
At-Risk, Biological/Medical Condition
- A diagnosed medical or biological condition can be associated with a developmental delay (i.e., prematurity, chronic otitis media).
At-Risk, Environmental Condition
- Risk of a delay due to environmental conditions that could affect a child’s development (i.e., lack of resources such as housing and food, teen parents).
How to refer a child:
Anyone can refer a child to Aprendamos Early Intervention. Referrals can be made over the phone or online at 575-526-6682 or www.aitkids.com.

Aprendamos Family of Services will be hiring to fill job positions throughout Sierra County, including the following.

Job interviews will be held on August 5th from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites at 2201 F.G. Amin St, Truth or Consequences, NM 87901. Walk-in interviews are welcomed. Applicants should bring a letter of interest and resume.
ABOUT APRENDAMOS FAMILY OF SERVICE
Aprendamos Family of Services had been providing services to our communities for over 16 years. Six programs make up Aprendamos Family of Services with over 230 passionate team members working with children and families daily.
Cariño Home Visiting Program provides free home visiting, parent education, and community resources for families with children up to the age of 3. Services are provided throughout Doña Ana and Otero Counties.
The Conscious Fathering Program provides free classes and support for fathers and father figures (grand-fathers, uncles, big brothers).
Aprendamos Early Intervention provides free early intervention services for infants and toddlers. Services include speech, occupational, physical therapy, nutrition and nursing support, infant massage, developmental instruction, and service coordination. Services are provided throughout Doña Ana County, and visits are conducted via telehealth or in-person.
Esperanza Children’s Therapy clinics provide speech therapy, occupation, and physical therapy for children ages three to 18 years old. Clinics are in Anthony and Las Cruces, NM. Therapy sessions are conducted via telehealth or in-clinic.
Mariposa Autism Service Center provides ABA or Applied Behavior Analysis therapy to children diagnosed with Autism. Service areas include Doña Ana County, Deming, and Albuquerque Metro.
Alegria Family Counseling provides mental health counseling services to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Services are provided via telehealth or in-clinic.
