Supporting Southern New Mexico children, individuals, and families for over 20 years

Registered Nurse Celeste Salcido of Cariño Family Health & Wellness at Aprendamos Family of Services

Welcome, Celeste!

We are thrilled to welcome Celeste Salcido to the Aprendamos Family of Services team! Celeste will be serving as a Registered Nurse for the Cariño Family Health & Wellness Nurse-Family Partnership Program. A true southern New Mexico native and proud NMSU Aggie, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and has extensive experience in healthcare.

Before joining the Aprendamos family, Celeste worked in several areas of hospital nursing, including Labor & Delivery, NICU, Postpartum/Women’s Services, PACU, the Operating Room, Oncology, and general adult health. After leaving the hospital setting, she moved into case management for a major insurance company, supporting high-risk NICU families and later working with members across the country through high-risk case management. “Nursing has always been close to my heart, especially anything involving moms and babies. Each chapter of my professional journey has taught me something new and shaped how I care for families today,” she shared.

In her new role, Celeste is excited to be one of the first NFP nurses in Southern New Mexico. “It feels special to be part of something from the very beginning. I’m passionate about supporting women, first-time moms, and babies, and helping families feel confident, supported, and seen,” she said. She also has a goal to help build a program that feels welcoming, accessible, and truly reflective of our community. “I want families to feel like they’re not alone and that we’re walking alongside them every step of the way.”

When she isn’t busy working with Cariño families, Celeste can be found traveling, spending time with her family, and exploring new places. She also values experiences that help her to slow down and stay grounded — whether that’s being outside, relaxing at home, or just enjoying time with the people she loves.

Reflecting on her role, Celeste shared, “I’m truly grateful to be part of Aprendamos and to help bring Nurse-Family Partnership to our region. Southern New Mexico is home for me, and I’m excited to pour into a community that has given me so much. I’m looking forward to being part of this journey, connecting with families, and helping this program grow in a way that honors and supports the moms, babies, and families we serve.”

We look forward to having Celeste’s insight and guidance as we begin a new era of support through the Cariño Nurse-Family Partnership. Thanks for making a meaningful difference for the children and families we serve!
