Monica Sosa currently serves as a Clinician and Clinical Supervisor for the Alegría Family Counseling. She specializes in treating individuals with mental health issues such as complex trauma, anxiety, depression, anger, grief, loss, family and sibling therapy, substance use, conduct, neglect, and abuse. She has received her Synergetic Play Therapy Certification and has been trained in EMDR Therapy. Monica strives to empower individuals toward transforming their life challenges into personal growth and is committed to creating a safe environment, free of judgment.

A New Mexico native, Monica has her Bachelor’s Degree in Family Studies from University of New Mexico and her Master’s degree in Social Work from Western New Mexico University. She is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Board-Certified Supervisor in New Mexico. Monica has decades of experience working with toddlers to the elderly in a variety of different capacities. Prior to joining the Aprendamos Family of Services team, Monica was employed as a Treatment Foster Care Therapist.  In her free time, she can be found spending quality time with family, friends, and 2 dogs.
